Doggie Latchkey Terms of Service – Revised 8/1/2024

This pet sitting service agreement is made between DOGGIE LATCHKEY, INC., hereinafter referred to as “DLK,” and the below-named Client, hereinafter referred to as “Client,” for pet sitting services.

  1. Payment: Client agrees to pay DLK for all services at the time of reservation confirmation unless otherwise agreed to.

  2. Ownership Certification: Client certifies that he/she is the actual owner of the pets listed in Client’s portal.

  3. Service Authorization: Client releases DLK to perform services as requested by the Client in the Client portal and permits DLK to enter Client’s home upon Client’s request for service made via telephone, email, text, or in person. Client agrees to notify DLK of any concerns within 24 hours of services rendered.

  4. Access to Property: DLK will not unlock or open doors and/or gates on Client’s property for any person(s), company, or service at any time, for any reason, unless directed by the Client.

  5. Liability for Damage: Client will not hold DLK responsible for any damage to Client’s property, property of others, or bodily harm to others that has been caused by the Client’s pet(s).

  6. Cancellation Policy: Client acknowledges that Client has reviewed and understands DLK’s cancellation policy as set forth here and also listed on Client’s invoice:

    Doggie Latchkey Cancellation Policy – Revised 8/1/2024

    • General Cancellations:
      • All cancellations must be requested through your Doggie Latchkey portal to be eligible for applicable refunds or future service credits. Requests to cancel services received by text, phone call, or email will not be eligible for refunds or future service credits.
      • Holiday or Short Notice Booking Cancellations: No refunds or future credits due to high demand and resource allocation.
      • Regular Visit Cancellations:
        • Cancellation requests with a minimum of 30 days’ notice from the scheduled sit dates: A full refund less a $35.00 administrative fee and 5% credit card processing fee OR a full credit for future services without any administrative fee or credit card processing fee.
        • Cancellation requests received with less than a 30-day notification from the scheduled sit dates:
          • Short notice cancellations (within 48 hours of scheduled sit): Not eligible for refunds or future service credits.
          • Over 48 hours’ notice and less than 7 days’ notice: Eligible for a 50% refund less a 5% credit card processing fee.
          • 7 days to 30 days’ notice: Eligible for a full refund less a $35.00 administrative fee and 5% credit card processing fee.
    • Overnight and 24-Hour VIP Visit Cancellations:
      • Notice with a minimum of 30 days’ notice from the scheduled sit dates: A full refund less a $35.00 administrative fee and 5% credit card processing fee OR a full credit for future services without any administrative fee or credit card processing fee.
      • Notice of cancellation requested with less than a 30-day notification from the scheduled sit dates:
        • Short notice (48 hours or less notification): No refund or future credits.
        • Greater than 48-hour notice but within 14 days of scheduled services: No refund, 50% credit towards future services.
        • Greater than 14 but less than 30 days’ notice cancellation: 50% refund less a 5% credit card processing fee.
  7. Emergency Veterinary Care: Client authorizes DLK to obtain emergency veterinary care, which may become necessary while Client’s pet(s) are under the care of DLK, if DLK cannot contact the Client immediately and directly. If Client’s preferred veterinarian is not accessible, DLK is authorized by Client to seek another veterinarian.

  8. Veterinary Expenses: Client is responsible for all veterinary and emergency expenses. Client agrees to compensate DLK, in full, for any veterinary expenses it may incur upon Client’s receipt of invoice(s) for such services.

  9. Emergency Pet Sitting Fee: Client agrees to pay DLK for emergency pet sitting at the hourly rate of $40.00, which includes but is not limited to transportation of the pet(s) to the veterinarian’s office and time spent at the veterinarian’s office. Client releases DLK from any and all liability related to transportation, veterinary treatment, and expenses.

  10. Emergency Contact: Client certifies that the Emergency Contact person named in the Client Portal has been notified that he/she has been designated as the person who will make decisions on the Client’s behalf in case of an emergency. The Client agrees to notify DLK immediately should he/she change the Emergency Contact person.

  11. Pet Guardian: Client certifies that the Pet Guardian named in the Client Portal has been notified that he/she has been designated as the person who will take responsibility for the Client’s pet(s) should the Client suffer severe injury or death. The Client agrees to notify DLK immediately should he/she change the Pet(s) Guardian.

  12. Inclement Weather & Emergencies: DLK is entrusted to exercise the best judgment under circumstances of inclement weather, a natural disaster, a state of emergency, war, or act of God in caring for the Client’s pet(s) and property. DLK shall be held harmless for the inability to visit the Client’s property during such times.

  13. Unsupervised Outdoor Access: Client agrees that DLK will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any pet(s) that are left with unsupervised access to the outdoors.

  14. Voluntary Services: Client agrees that DLK will not be liable for any damages resulting from the performance by DLK of any additional voluntary services specifically requested by Client and agreed upon by DLK, such as watering plants or bringing in the newspaper.

  15. Pet Behavior: Client warrants that the pet(s) to be cared for have no history of vicious or violent behavior.

  16. Indemnification: Client agrees to indemnify, be liable for, and compensate DLK for any and all damages suffered by DLK (including its owners, representatives, employees, and subcontractors – hereafter referred to as “representatives”) and/or any third parties, that occur while DLK is providing services for Client, including but not limited to, damages caused by the pet(s) to be cared for, personal injury, and all other damages, etc. Client states that it has and will continue to maintain homeowners/renters insurance at any and all times DLK is providing services for Client.

  17. Home Security: Client agrees to lock all windows, screens, and doors prior to leaving his/her home unattended for the safety and security of the Client’s pet(s), property, and that of DLK.

  18. Supplies: Client agrees to have sufficient pet food, pet medications*, pet cleaning supplies, and other important pet supplies readily available to DLK prior to departure. In the event of pending rain or inclement weather, Client agrees to have towels available to dry off pet(s) who will be taken outside by DLK. Client agrees to reimburse DLK for all re-supply of products that may become necessary for the satisfactory performance of duties. Client agrees to compensate DLK for trips made to the store for such products at the hourly rate of $40.00.

*CLIENT AGREES TO PLACE ALL PET MEDICATIONS IN A LABELED BAG/CONTAINER THAT IS NOT THE ORIGINAL MEDICATION DISPENSER. CLIENT ALSO AGREES TO LABEL THE NEW CONTAINER WITH ALL INFORMATION NECESSARY FOR DLK SITTER TO ADMINISTER THESE MEDICATIONS SAFELY.

  1. Returned Checks: Client agrees to pay a fee of $35.00 per returned check and further agrees to be responsible for any and all costs associated with collection proceedings if applicable.

  2. Personal Emergency: In the event of a personal emergency, illness, or injury to members or representatives of DLK, Client authorizes DLK to arrange for another qualified individual to fulfill the responsibilities set forth.

  3. Media Authorization: Client gives DLK its express permission to produce video and photographic images of its pet(s). Client further gives its permission to DLK to reproduce/use those images on social media, its website, and any other advertising medium.

  4. Service Commitment: DLK agrees to provide all services in a timely, reliable, and caring manner.

BY PROVIDING YOUR INITIALS AND CLICKING SUBMIT, CLIENT AFFIRMS THEY HAVE RECEIVED A COPY OF THE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES OF DLK AND AGREE TO THE CONTENTS THEREIN. CLIENT HAS READ THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT AND CONFIRMS THE ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THE CLIENT PORTAL. YOUR INITIALS INDICATE AGREEMENT TO THESE TERMS.
